BOSTON NEWS: Improvements to A1137 Norfolk St & Tawney St Junction in Boston to start this month

Works to refresh the junction’s signals and lay new road surfacing will start on Monday 22 July.

Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: “As part of this year’s programme of major road repair works, we’ll be heading to the A1137 Norfolk Street / Tawney Street junction to refresh the traffic signals and rebuild the carriageway.

“This important Boston junction will take a month and a half to improve, with up to 600 tonnes of road building materials set to be used.”

Cllr Anton Dani, county councillor for Boston North, said: “The road surfacing at this important junction is starting to break apart and the traffic signals are quite old, so these improvements will make a noticeable difference when finished in early September.

“I want to assure residents that, although there will be some daytime traffic signals and night-time working, all noisy operations will stop before 1am and access will be maintained throughout the works. This should help keep disruption down.”
