The Conservative-led Lincolnshire County Council is proud to announce the opening of the new St Lawrence School in Horncastle, a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the needs of students with a range of learning requirements. This flagship project, part of the council’s Building Communities of Specialist Provision strategy, was officially celebrated on Tuesday, 29 October, marking another vital achievement by our Conservative administration.

The new St Lawrence School provides a comprehensive and inclusive environment with 17 modern classrooms, including specialised spaces for pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities. Additional facilities, such as a hall and studio for rebound therapy, spaces for soft play, sensory play, and life skills support, are tailored to enhance severy pupil’s educational experience.

Cllr Patricia Bradwell OBE, executive member for children’s services, emphasised the significance of the project: “Our Conservative administration has invested around £100 million to improve and expand special schools across Lincolnshire. St Lawrence School is a remarkable success in this ongoing commitment, and we’re proud to see these world-class facilities make a lasting, positive impact on our community.”
