The latest business surveys confirm what many in Lincolnshire already feared—Labour’s economic policies are failing, and local jobs are on the line. Under Rachel Reeves’ autumn budget, UK firms are preparing for the most significant layoffs in a decade, and businesses across the county are feeling the pressure.

Labour’s tax hikes are choking small businesses, forcing them to cut jobs and reduce investment. The increase in employer national insurance contributions and the sharp rise in the national living wage create unsustainable costs, leading to higher unemployment and lower business confidence. Surveys from the CIPD and Federation of Small Businesses show that nearly a third of employers are considering redundancies, and confidence among small firms has collapsed.

This economic turmoil is hitting Lincolnshire hard, particularly in the hospitality and retail sectors. We’ve already seen pubs and small businesses struggle, and Labour’s policies are worsening. The British Beer and Pub Association reported that six pubs closed every week last year, leading to thousands of job losses—yet Labour is pushing through more cost increases that threaten even more closures.

Instead of delivering the promised economic growth, Labour increased inflation and increased unemployment. Their upcoming Employment Rights Bill is yet another blow to small businesses, making it harder for them to hire and keep staff.

Lincolnshire needs a government that supports local businesses, protects jobs, and grows the economy—not punishes hardworking employers with higher taxes and more regulations. The Conservatives are committed to:

  • Cutting taxes for businesses to help them hire and invest.
  • Reducing unnecessary regulations that stifle small firms.
  • Supporting job creation through infrastructure projects and investment in local industries.
  • Keeping public spending under control to prevent rising inflation and interest rates.

The choice at the next election is clear. Voting Labour means voting for more job losses and economic decline. Voting Conservative means voting for growth, stability, and a stronger Lincolnshire economy.

Don’t let Labour’s reckless policies ruin our county’s future. Vote Conservative to keep Lincolnshire working.
